New Green Fireball Sighting: Cloudbait Observatory - October 28, 2008 Fireball

Cloudbait Observatory - October 28, 2008 Fireball

There are some interesting videos of the Oct 28th green fireball at this site, including one that shows this as the track --
It almost looks like it is changing direction and every meteor I have ever seen goes straight across the sky.

My friend Norio Hayakawa (Area 51/Dulce researcher) happened to witness this and said it was slowly moving across the sky, which also doesn't sound like a meteor.

While out trick or treating with our son and friends, we saw a large green fireball go across the sky in an easterly direction fairly slowly. I think it was around 7:20 cst. NEVER seen anything like it. I thought it would be all over the news today, but no mention, except that they were expecting the ammonia tank from the space station to re-enter on November 2. Then I found your info. I know very little about astronomy. Can anyone help shed some light on this for us?

Thanks, Beth

My son and his friend were also out treak or treating when they saw a large, bright object in the sky. Said it looked like a plane on fire, with pieces falling from the sky. The pic he took with his phone shows a red ball. We haven't been able to find anything either.

I saw the same thing around 7:00PM CST while out trick or treating. It was blue in color and at first I thought it was fireworks. It appeared so close I was expecting to hear a boom or hear something fall to the earth! It was the strangest thing I have ever seen. I immediately went to look on the internet for other reports but your two comments are the only thing I've found. I live in Wisconsin.

Saw a HUGE white/yellow "fireball" in Madison, Wisconsin on October 31, 2008 at around 6:52 p.m. It was traveling from west to east. It was amazing--I've NEVER seen anything like it. Didn't know exactly what I saw, and didn't hear anything on the news about it. Thought perhaps I must have seen a firework or something (but there was no noise). Glad to find these other comments about seeing the same thing!

I am from Madison also! (I am the one who left the comment before you under "anonymous". The Pastor of our church saw it also so now I know of three people that saw it also. Wasn't it bizarre?!

I also saw something like that in WI on Oct. 31 between 6:30 and 7:00 PM. However, it appeared to be white or bluish white in color. It seemed to be going north to south.

I have heard of this other sighting on Halloween, but haven't seen any photos or video yet. I will do some digging around and see what I come up with.

While walking with my wife north from our house , I observed a streak to the north from slightly higher than 45 degrees toward the horizon where it appeared to break into two pieces. Steve, Port Hope ON Ca.
