Old Albuquerque Photos

I found these in one of the many photo albums I brought home from my sister's. They had originally belonged to my grandmother.

I have no idea where the first shot was taken from, but as you can see there is not much of Albuquerque at that time.

The second photo is a restaurant my grandmother worked at when they first moved here. It was called the El Sombrero and as you can probably tell it was a giant sombrero shaped restaurant, much like the brown derby in CA only a sombrero. It was located at what is San Pedro and Central and as you can see from the background there was not much around there then. I don't know who the pretty lady is.

Not sure of the year the photos were taken I will guess somewhere between 1947 and the early 50s.

I'm sorry to leave a note like this but it appeared to be the most efficient way to contact you.
I'm with Turner Publishing and we have a book titled "Historic Photos of Albuquerque." It tells the story of Albuquerque through archived black and white photos. I'm going around to bloggers/freelancers who might be interested in receiving a complimentary copy for possible review. If you'd like a copy please email me at lchenery@turnerpublishing.com and I'll ship one out to you right away. We appreciate your time and any help you could give us! Thanks so much!
